Where TA scales well (at least up to Windows 7, it seems Supcom does not.
Performance - Supcom is demanding even on today's high end PCs. Strategic Bombing Commanders is almost always a win despite whatever amount of shields you have. That may be fine for some, but I always disliked that aspect. Pacing - Supcom plays much faster than TA. Worse, most games feature hundreds and hundreds of cons which just feels forced, again IMO. They don't look solid or convey mass IMO.įactory/Con Farming - Most games I see with Supcom have a dozen or more labs lined up constantly spewing units. Holographic Units - your units are just not 'there' when you get close to them. 'Pew Pew Pew' - sounds in the game are just weak, soft, and distant. By far the biggest difference from TA - that close, tight feedback with your units get lost in Supcom. Zoomed all the way out, hot keys, and almost no real interaction with your units.
